Business Development Representative

Role Overview

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will be responsible for nurturing business opportunities for our Project Assurance solutions.  A BDR interacts with business professionals in an assigned region by email and phone using Valency’s structured sales process – not cold calling.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Prospecting & Qualifying Leads

  • Follow-up with leads identified through marketing campaigns.
  • Respond to inbound calls, website inquiries and emails from prospects and convert these into qualified opportunities.
  • Make outbound follow-up calls to current clients to cross-sell new offerings
  • Identify decision makers within organizations to advance the sales cycle.
  • Update client interactions through the CRM tool
  • Create and update lead generation email and phone scripts
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing to continuously improve campaigns and inbound marketing strategies.

Deliver qualified opportunities to Account Executives

  • Collaborate with Account Executives on account sales strategies.
  • Work with our team to address objections from prospective clients.

Industry Knowledge Building

  • Engage in ongoing training on construction project management best practices and Valency’s project assurance solutions.
  • Conduct market research and keep up-to-date on industry knowledge, innovations and competitors.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • A University or College degree.
  • At least one (1) year of direct work experience in a sales capacity (tele sales, retail or other).
  • An ability to ask great questions and listen intently.
  • Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, appropriate for working with senior business professionals.
  • Tech-savvy, proficient with online research, CRM tools, and analysis using Excel.
  • A goal-oriented mindset and commitment to generate sales leads and meet achieve quarterly objectives.
